Tims Ford State Park, also called Tims Ford State Rustic Park, is a state park in Tennessee, Franklin County. Situated on the Tims Ford Reservoir, this gigantic park has 1,321 acres. The state park is placed on the north shore of Tims Ford Lake near the north slope of the Cumberland Plateau, about ten miles from Winchester City. Furthermore, its beauty sits in south-central Tennessee. 

Additionally, the Tims Ford Lake is one of the most picture-perfect lakes in Tennessee. Also, it is considered as one of the prime bass fishing and recreational lakes in the Southeast.

Things to Do in Tims Ford State Park 

At Tims Ford State Park, you'll never run out of things to do. The park provides campsites, meeting rooms, cabins, trails, and a swimming pool. The park is also welcome to a Bear Trace golf course.

Among these exciting and fun things to do, who would have thought golfing is a great and popular activity? The park is at the Bear Trace at Tims Ford. The Tims Ford Reservoir can be seen from most holes on the course, and they are a total of 18 holes, giving the course an exquisite balance of difficulty and playability.

MAIN CAMPGROUND

Rates: $25 — $27

Tent campers can camp at any of the six islands near the link or the Turkey Creek area.

Their campsite has the following:

  • There are 52 RV and tent campsites that are open year-round. 

  • All sites have water hookups and 30-amp electric service.

  • Four of the places have sewer hookups.

  • A dump station is placed at the entrance to the campsite.

  • There are two perfectly heated bathhouses located at the center for hot showers and bathrooms. 

  • A picnic table and a grill with a fire ring are provided on each site. 

  • There's a playground within the sites and many other playgrounds at the park. 

  • The store at the camp is open year-round.

  • There's access to WiFi.

Note: the campsites have a limited number of six people per site. You can use one RV and one tent. Also, you can choose two tents per campsite. The two campgrounds are ADA compliant and not available for some reason. Maximum stay: 14 days through March to November. The maximum stay is 28 days through December, January, and February.
